Winter has alredy started and I hate it, it’s sooooo cold in Melbourne, and worst of all, when you wake up in the mornig you don’t know what to expect. Like you could wake up in a foggy morning and take your umbrella and rain coat, because it looks like it’s going to be a rainny day, but then it turns out to bee a nice, sunny, windy day. It suxz!!!!!!!

But the good part comes know: the school holidays is only one day away!!!!!!!! Yey!!!!! Although I don’t have any interesting plans for the holidays, at least I got time to rest. He! he! I wont havwe to wake up at 6:30 a.m. in the freezing and dark mornings to go and spent another boring day at school, I will sleep in at least until 10 o’clock. AND BEST OF ALL there is no school homework on these holidays!!!!!!!!!!!

In the holidays I really want to see the Omen, but because I’m only 13 years, and the movie is classified MA15+, my parents will not let me go see the movie. So pleaseeeeeeee if anyone out there has seen it, canyou please tell me what happens???????????? PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can’t think of what else to write………………. oh! Yeah! If you read this post, can’t you comment on my site?????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What was it like to be an evacuee? An Evacuee (children in particicular) would feel confused, because he wouild now where they sending him/her. Depressed, at leaving all their belogings, family and friends. Annoyed at being forced to live their own, home countries for their safety. Scared, because they would know what was going to happen to them next. Hopeful, to get a home and a family who would take care of them and love them.

What was the diet of people like during the war? There was rationing and people had to make the best of what was available. The menu would mainly consist on milk, bread, bacon, cheese, apples, sausages.
. What was it like during the Blitz in 1940?
At 4:56pm on 7 September 1940, the sirens wailed as the German Air Force, the luftwaffe, launched a massive raid on London. Over 350 bombers flew across the Channel from airfields in France and dropped 300 tonnes of bombs on the docks and streets of the East End of London.

What was the Blitz?
Heavy and frequent bombing raids carried out over Britain in 1940 and 1941. This was called The Blitz. London was bombed ever day and night, bar one, for 11 weeks.

What does ‘Blitz’ mean?
Blitz is the German word for ‘lightning’.

 1.

It is shocking the way they treat innocent people, like children, in detention centres all around Australia. It looks as if they are some kind of criminals. Lots of these immigrants are being forced out of their home country. Some of them , like children, don’t have any choice and are being moved from their family and country to, what they are hoping for, will be a better and saffer place to live. And what do we do? We lock them up, for what could be their whole lifes.

Earlier this week a three-year-old girl, who had spent her entire life behind bars, was released from a detention centre with her mother after a psychiatrist’s warning over her mental health. Lots of other people are experiencing this same problems. Some immigrants are born in this horrifying detention centres and will eventually die in them too.
The immigration minister has referred 201 cases of possible wrongful detention to an internal inquiry.
The inquiry, headed by former federal police chief Mick Palmer, was initially set up to investigate the wrongful detention of Cornelia Rau, an Australian resident who ended up in an immigration centre.

The Palmer Inquiry was later expanded to look into the case of Vivien Alvarez-Solon, an Australia citizen who was deported to the Philippines in 2001.

A senate inquiry learned on Wednesday that Queensland police were notified about the wrongful deportation of Ms Alvarez-Solon in 2003, by mid-ranking immigration officials who apparently did nothing.

Australia’s ABC television has claimed Mr Palmer, after concluding his investigation will recommend that the government set up a wider inquiry with judicial powers to investigate the 201 other cases of possible wrongful detention.

The immigration minister didn’t confirm the claim, but said she would take Mr Palmer’s advice on how to move forward with the investigations.

The minister has in the past resisted calls for a public inquiry into the Rau and Alvarez-Solon cases.

Australia has a policy of mandatory detention of asylum-seekers and its practice of also detaining children has drawn international criticism, including from Amnesty International.

In the wake of the apology the government reversed an earlier decision and said a Vietnamese boy born in Australia to asylum-seeker parents would not be sent back to offshore detention on Christmas Island.
I believe that that immigrants who arrive to Australia should get a proper investigation on their background before they are put into detention centres.

Marching came the furious hurricane. As angry as a lion and strong as a tiger. As it terrified our whole town, one by one, with its extreme winds. Going faster than a cheetah, and breaking everything and anything that got on its way. Its evil appearance gave me a chill down my back, a chill that I could never forget. I was petrified as its absolute, deadly winds approached the tiny street I lived in. It was ripping its way through the brick houses, collapsing them as if they were ants. Cars were lifted into the air like feathers and span around. I could hardly believe my gaze, my heart thumping as fast as electricity, and as hard as a giant’s roar. The horrifying hurricane was still advancing at ultimate speeds towards my shocked and panicked body. I was having the most dreadful thoughts. As alarmed as a bee I searched for a place to hide. Some mattresses were my only alternative. The menacing hurricane was so close I could feel the sharp winds trembling the ground below me. ‘I was done for’. But something miraculous occurred abruptly. The hideous hurricane was gone. Right in front of my eyes. Astonishingly it had happened. Right in front of my eyes.

In the movie Fly Away Home, Amy is involved in a journey from New Zealand to Canada, her journey from distrust to love, and her journey south in the plane. When she first came to Canada, she felt very depressed about the death of her mother and annoyed because she had to live with her dad, who she didn’t know. As time passed, and her journey ended, she had changed. Her personality, I reckon, was different. She had learnt to accept people. She was also a proud and famous girl after her journey.

I believed that every single person is involved in a journey of their own. I mean, life is a journey, right?

Fly Away Home is the movie we’ve been watching in our English class. The main characters in this film are Amy, his dad, his dad’s girlfriend and 12 geesse. The movie is mainly about Amy and the geesse.

Here’s how the story goes:

In the start Amy and her mother are involve in a car accident. Amy’s mum die’s and Amy gets injured. The injuries are not too bad.

When Amy wakes up from her nightmare, she finds her dad infront of her. He sadly tells her that her mum died. So he is incharge of her now, therefore he has to take her to his house, in Canada.

When Amy gets to her new house in Canada she doesn’t feel that comfortable. She says she can’t remember antthing for some reason , although she does. She misses her mum alot. Because they used to be really close to each other.

One day she was walking around in the forest, which was no longer a forest because allthe trees had been cut down, when she found some geese eggs. She carefully picked them up and took them home to look after.

In the next few months they grew older and stronger. They were soon young adults. Everything was perfect, except she needed to teach them how to fly and show them the way to immigrate to the South in the colder seasons.

Teaching them wasn’t an easy job. So his dad had an awesome idea of using his newly invented Ultralight Plane to teach them and show them the way. It didn’t work as they planned because the geese didn’t follow Amy’s dad. So Amy’s dad had to teach his daughter how to fly the Ultralight Plane. She soon got the hang of it.

In the next few months everything worked succesfully. The immigration season had finally came and it was time to fly the geese to the South.

Amy followed his dad and the geese followed Amy. It was all working out until a hunter, thinking that Amy’s dad’s plane was a goose (must be blind or something), shot it. The plane fell down.

Amy had to fly the geese and it all went well. THe geese flew to the South and they all lived happily ever after.
